Baptism
“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.” (CCC 1213)

For children under the age or sevenParents who wish to have their children or expected child baptized and raise them in the Catholic faith are invited to the baptism classes. The Baptism Preparation Class are offered every other month in the Cathedral Center in English on the 2nd and 3rd Monday’s from 6:30-8:30 PM. Classes in Spanish on the 1st and 2nd Saturdays from 7:00-9:00 pm. Parents and godparents are required to attend both baptism preparation classes. A copy child's birth certificate is required before the baptism can be scheduled. Parents must also have filled out the Baptism Preparation Registration Form with also the Godparent's Certificate Form for each Godparent. After attending the classes, you may set a date for the baptism with one of the Cathedral priests or deacons. Baptism classes attended in another parish within the last two years are accepted with a certificate or letter from that parish. If you are to be a godparent of a child's baptism outside the parish, we can draft a letter for your attendance and good standing in our parish. For children seven and olderChildren over the age of seven who are not baptized must go through the Christian Initiation processes. These classes are held every Thursday from 6:30 PM in the Cathedral. They begin in September and last throughout the school year. Please click here for more information

El santo Bautismo es el fundamento de toda la vida cristiana, el pórtico de la vida en el espíritu ("vitae spiritualis ianua") y la puerta que abre el acceso a los otros sacramentos. Por el Bautismo somos liberados del pecado y regenerados como hijos de Dios, llegamos a ser miembros de Cristo y somos incorporados a la Iglesia y hechos partícipes de su misión: El bautismo es el sacramento del nuevo nacimiento por el agua y la palabra. (CCC 1213)

Para los niños menores de 7 años que necesitan el bautismo,La Catedral ofrece clases para los padres y padrinos cada dos meses en el Centro de la Catedral en español son el 1 ª y 2 ª Sábados de 7:00-9:00p.m. Llame a la oficina para registrarse para las dos clases bautismales. Los padres y padrinos deben de asistir a los dos platicas. Necesita traer una copia del acta de nacimiento del niño o niña. Los padrinos deben de traer copia de su acta de matrimonio por la iglesia Catolica. Despues de asistir a los dos clases, necesitaran hacer cita para hablar con un sacerdote para eligir la fecha para el bautismo. Los bautismos se celebran el tercer sábado de cada mes a las 11am.
